Chapter Nine
Ware watched Erin check the knot on the belt of her robe for the third time. He placed his hand over hers. âIf you make it any tighter you wonât be able to get it off.â
She slapped her hands down to her sides. âI know. Iâm just a bit nervous about this.â
He placed his hand on the small of her back as they followed Nase through the crowd of lounge chairs and naked bodies. He couldnât say he understood her shyness. Her body was perfectly shaped and even if it wasnât, it wouldnât matter. It was about being comfortable, at least for him. The required dressing for dinner and while in port made his skin feel smothered. Being nude as they were now was much better.
Nase stopped. âI think this will do.â
Ware looked around. They were on the second-level deck near the front. It was breezier here but there were fewer lounges, only forty or so. âWeâll get settled in if you want to grab some beverages.â
âDonât have to ask me twice.â Nase wiggled his brows before giving Erin a quick kiss on the lips.
âThere are others already here.â Erin looked worriedly around them and tucked her hair behind her ears. A couple lay at the very apex of the deck and another couple read on the starboard side.
âYes, and I expect there will be more. Since we are out at sea today, every chair is bound to be filled. I canât imagine anyone wanting to stay inside, unless of course they are having sex.â
Erin had been contemplating the couple reading when her head snapped up at his comment. âDo you think a lot of people will do that?â
He shook his head. âNot this early, but later I imagine they will, and if you are good at this, maybe we will.â
Her eyes widened and she swallowed hard. âIâd like that.â
Another couple came up the stairs. It was two women who held hands as they decided where to sit. He gestured toward them. âThen you better choose your place before these fill up.â
âOkay.â
He followed Erin as she headed for the port side near the back. Of course, as far away from the people already seated. He grinned slightly. âWhy donât you lie on your stomach and I will put lotion on your back? Your skin there is very pale compared to the rest of your body.â
She nodded stiffly.
âYou will need to take the robe off for me to put this on you.â
âI know.â She fiddled with the knot, loosening it, but not undoing it.
He placed his hand on her face. âErin. You are a beautiful woman, but your back really needs a tan.â
âIt does, does it?â Her pique was exactly what heâd hoped for. âThen you better not let me burn. I expect every inch to be covered.â
He winked. âI promise, every inch.â
Her face flushed before she finally untied the knot and quickly lay down on her towel.
Ware sucked in his breath. Her body called to him, making him hard. Her perfectly rounded ass led to her muscular runnerâs legs.
